Pinterest is your secret weapon for coming up with content ideas. Since Pinterest allows you to search, thank you SEO, it gives you a unique way to search for content in your niche. These can be used for inspiration to create content for your Instagram. From quotes to facts, Pinterest has you covered.

The first thing I would like you to do is take more video and save it as a B-roll. Get rid of unnecessary recordings on your phone to make it easy to find when creating content. B-roll is great for creating interesting content that has you or your life in front of the camera, without you talking face-to-camera.

Your own B-roll provides a more personal connection since it is something from your life that your ideal client can relate to. You don't have to relate your B-roll to your niche to make an impact. Your everyday life footage is part of your brand just like your brand pillars. With your B-roll created, it's time to get Pinterest inspired.

How to use Pinterest for more content ideas for Instagram

Pinterest has a large collection of ideas and inspiration that you can use to create your own content quickly. You need to first understand your brand and your ideal client. Once you know these things you can search for tips, tools, and quotes that would get your ideal client to stop the scroll and engage with your content.

For example, a math teacher might look for end-of-year funny quotes for teachers. Using a program like Canva or the Instagram App, you can build your Reel or Instagram Story once you find the quotes you like. You would do this by uploading your video, adding your quote or tip, setting duration, adding trending music, creating a caption, adding hashtags, and posting. Use this process over and over again to keep track of your Pinterest ideas.

Now you have a secret weapon in your pocket to create endless content!

All right, let's get into it, sister. Hey, hey. What's going on? How are you, sister? Girl. Welcome back to the, Hey, hey, Emmy Show podcast.

I am your host, Emmy Cornwell, and I am just getting off of a client call. Actually, this is not planned. If you've been here for any amount of time and listen to any of the podcast episodes, you know that I, none of these are scripted. I don't write things out. If anything, I maybe do an outline here and there.

I'll ask like chat, G p t a question to kind of see what potentially they have to say, the AI has to say. But other than that, these are not scripted. I'm not reading anything. It's just me and you, sister girl, and I had an amazing call with one of my longtime clients and. I have been meaning to talk about this and share on the podcast episode about Pinterest for a long time because it's one of my secret weapons when it comes to creating content.

And literally and less than cuz our calls are 60 minutes cuz she's on my continued care program. And so the first half we talked about her affiliate marketing business and we talked about promos and sales and DM scripts and how to speak with people and what she should be saying and how to sell more in that regard.

But then the last half, so let's just say 30 minutes and 30 minutes time, we co-created. With my guidance and with my leadership, but we came up with together, and I'm gonna share with you the process. Four reels with four captions and also like what she needs to put on the actual reel. So when I say captions what's written in, like the comments not that's actually on the reel.

All she has to do is find a trending audio, add some hashtags, and actually post it. And she's done. Okay, we did that in 30 minutes time, so would it be something that you want to hear? I'm hoping so, cuz you're here of how to utilize Pinterest as part of your content strategy to effectively use your time when it comes to your creativity, and your content.

I thinking the answer is yes and like I said is one of my secret weapons. I've been using Pinterest for quite some time now and I'm gonna share with you. How to do it. So my client, she's a math teacher. She is in the thick of it when it comes to closing out the end of school. She lives in the Midwest and they like get done super early.

Like so they're done, like done, done. I think like end of May, which is nuts. I live in Washington State. We would always go to like mid-June sometimes, depending on how many snow days we had. It would be even longer. Oh man. But here's the cool thing about Washington is August and September, even September is actually my fav, one of my favorite months in Washington.

It's beautiful weather. So we start school a little bit, not later, but we don't start school at the beginning of August, where I know some schools across the country do. Anyway, she's a math teacher. So keep that in mind as I'm sharing with you kind of the process.  But here's what I did. I asked her. And, and this is something I've shared with you too on the podcast when it comes to like B-roll video and that I tell you, you have more content already in your iPhone than you think you do.

If you are in the habit of taking video, if you are in the habit of taking moon rings, if you're in the video of taking photos, it just should be a habit of yours. I'd rather you, and I told this to another client that I had today for a 60 minute strategy session, which is a different way you can work with me.

Which by the way, I am opening my books up for 60 minute strategy sessions very soon, but I'm revamping and upgrading them. You are gonna want to, you wanna, you're gonna want to get one of those limited spots. Because I am a mom and I can't take 5 million clients anymore. I never really could because that would be out of integrity.

Like I wanna make sure I'm having an impact on the people that I work with. And so I never wanted to fill my books full, whole, whole, but just like seasons in, in life, sometimes you can like hustle and grind hard and have more clients and sometimes you can't. I'm a mom now, so I'm taking a little bit less clients, but you are gonna want one of those limited spots.

So how do you do that? This is not sponsored. This is a little bit of breakup in between what we're talking about when it comes to Pinterest, but it's very important and you need to listen up. Go to www.emmycornwell.com/scoop. Also, if you just swipe up, that's gonna be in the show notes. That is gonna get you on the Instagram insider scoop, which is my exclusive free community.

That delivers weekly, like it's a weekly dose of tips, tricks, hacks, DM scripts, story series ideas, real trending stuff, like everything you need to know for Instagram, it comes right to your inbox. Okay? The people who are in that community are going to get first dibs and um, usually also something extra special first.

They get, they get it first, so, Anyways, I was in a 60 minute strategy session earlier, and of course now I'm gonna forget with his mom brain, I used to be able to do that like tangent a little bit smoother. Can I just be transparent with you? I feel like my brain has been pretty good. They talk about postpartum brain fog and mom brain, all things, and I do believe that is real, but I used to be able to seamlessly.

Talk about 5 million different things and wonderfully tie them all together in a nice little bow. I'm having a little bit difficulty. I forget why. What was I talking about in regards to my 60 minute strategy session client earlier? Hmm. Maybe I'll remember. Let's just jump back into it's go. It's gonna come to me.

Don't you worry, sister girl. I will. It will come back around. Pray that it does. Cause I feel like it was impactful. So Holy Spirit, if it was meant to be said, you will bring it back up in my mind so that I can share with the people who are listening. So Pinterest, let's just hop into this. The math teacher, okay.

She's amazing. Middle school math teacher here is what I asked her. Oh, video. Okay. See? Yes, yes, yes, yes. So the 60 minute, okay, thank you for staying with me. The, the gal that I did the 60 minute strategy session with today, she said, you know, I'm just not in a habit of taking those videos. And I told her, cuz she's getting ready to go to a conference, and she was asking me what type of content should I take at this conference while I'm in Vegas?

Um, it's actually a permanent jewelry conference, which is all the rage right now. So they call it PJ's and I just think of like pajamas. Maybe she's gonna wear pajamas. I don't know. That'd be pretty akay in Vegas. Anyways, before I go on another tangent and forget, she was asking what type of content I take, and I told her I'd rather you have more video in your phone, more photos, more boom rings than you know what to do with.

Then to come back from the trip and the conference and be like, oh man, I should have taken video of that. Because we're not living in the day and age of like the code out cameras where you have to take it to the, you know, local drugstore to get developed anymore. And then like you only have 28. Shots that you can take, we, you don't have to anymore.

You can hit, delete and remove it from your phone. So why not have more than you think you need because you're getting in the habit and that way you have it and you can use it for months and months to come. There are videos in my phone right now that I use from California in, in, when did I go to California last before I, I was like 36 weeks pregnant in February.

Or last California in June. I went to Hawaii in June last year. I did a huge speaking engagement last June. I used the video, then I used video from it. It just depends on what you're sharing, but it's not just, you're gonna use it for a lot of different things. So I want you to get in the habit of taking video and having more than you think because you can create B-roll and you can use it for other parts of your content.

So that's what we were kind of talking about in the six minute strategy session, which lends itself into working with my continued care client, who's the math teacher. She's been working with me for a long time. She knows about B-roll. She's like, I've trained her to take that. And so I asked her while we were starting her content calendar for this week with those four reels in 30 minutes is what videos?

I said, what videos do you have? In your camera right now, like what do you have already? Already recorded? And here's what she told me. She told me she had a video of her making booklets and stapling and folding them together for their last activity of school. She told me she had a video of making lists, like sitting down and making like a list of everything she needed to do to close out the air, like what she needed to clean, what she needed to pack.

She also told me she had a video of, she likes to go on the boat with her husband. She had a video of the water she showed me. It was a really beautiful, gorgeous video. And then those were the three that she told me where we came up with. The fourth one was I then went to Pinterest and here is what I searched.

Remember, she only told me just what video she had, and I know her niche. I know who she helps. So I went to Pinterest and I searched funny. Teacher quotes, that's what I searched. Funny teacher quotes. And what comes up is a bunch of different pins like a bunch. And I found one that said, I think it said 20 quotes for teachers.

Let me see. It said 26 hilarious teacher memes to make it to the end of the school year. Okay. I clicked on that and then I'm going through and she sees a quote that she actually used the other day, cause I taught her this Pinterest trick as well. And she utilizes it for content in her stories too, not just for reels.

So one of the memes is, it's a sinking shit people. It says the good news in May we teachers can bond with each other over the fact that we are all in the same boat. The bad news, the boat is the Titanic. Well, I know she told me, okay, shoot, I used that already. And I go, oh, did you use it in your stories or in a reel?

She's like, I used it in my stories. And she's like, and then I used the emoji response sticker. With it to have people like hit it like they're laughing along with me, which pro tip money hit? You should be using that. That is one of the most popular engagement stickers. But you have to train your audience to use it anyways, that was a side money hit, so I was like, oh, did people respond?

She said, yes. I go, that's good. That means that content landed with your ideal client. We're gonna use that for a reel. So I put a pin in that and. I was like, we're not gonna use that for video of the water, but it's about a boat. And I know you like to go on the boat with your husband. Do you have a video of you action on the boat in your camera?

And of course she did, because again, I've trained her just to get in the habit. So she of course, loves going out the boat. They go on the boat a lot. Sh she could find that in her folder of videos on her iPhone. So essentially, I came up with a fourth idea for a reel. Based off of a Pinterest search. Okay, great.

Well, now we needed to go back to that original real video of just the water itself, like just the calm palm seas and figure out what we are going to put in it. Okay. So utilizing Pinterest is going to lead you to be able to create more content. If you know your niche, if you know who you're speaking to.

And so some of the things that you can insert, whatever your niche is, right? So I said funny teacher quotes, well, maybe you funny, maybe your ideal client's, a mom, funny mom, quotes, maybe your ideal client is wanting to lose weight, funny weight loss quotes, insert funny blank quotes, whatever that is.

And you're gonna get a bunch of different ideas that could spur on. Creatively what you're gonna create for your content. Here's another way that you can use Pinterest. So say you come across a quote, we actually in our session to help kind of think of what we should do for the video where she was making a list of closeout the year.

I was like, listen, I know you wanna be done with school, what teacher doesn't, but is there anything like sentimental or like thoughtful, like in encouraging or like more serious you could share? Like as like just write, use the video and then just write that over the video. She's like, you know what, no.

And I was like, great. Well, let's go to Pinterest. Let's see what Pinterest says. So I literally typed in sentimental thoughts for teaching. You can keyword search. Pinterest is a s e keyword, searchable platform. You can search for anything. It's like way better than Google, in my opinion, for creating content.

You can also use Google and you can also use things. Use things like chat, G P T, the ai, and you can use Answer the Public. That's another one. But I just love using Pinterest. It is again, secret weapon underrated tool for content. So I searched sentimental thoughts for teaching and I found 10 inspirational quotes.

Was that it or no, I just found I think just a quote right on the page. I didn't have to like go off of Pinterest and it says you cannot be all things to all students, but sometimes just sometimes you'll be the right teacher at the right time. You'll be the exact teacher that one student needed more than anything.

And I don't know who this guy is, but Paul FC Mundy said that just to give credit where credit is due. So I was like, what if we do that? And so it's perfect. We're just, we're gonna put that quote over her and what happened again, then as we were doing that, we, it led us to another quote that then, We're gonna use for the third video, which is making the book and stapling, folding for the lax activities.

How funny is this? How funny is this joke? All math teachers have problems. Get it? Oh man, I love a good pun. Anyways, so that is another way that you can utilize Pinterest is search for the quotes. Take a B-roll video, add the quote that's relevant to your ideal client over the video. Right, a caption, put some hashtags into trending audio.

Bam. It doesn't have to be hard, it doesn't have to be complicated. The other part that you can do with like things like quotes, is you can use them in your stories. And this is also what I shared. I've shared actually a lot this week as I've had several 60 minute strategy sessions that I was sharing this Pinterest trick, tip hack, whatever you wanna call it.

Another gal that I was working with also in the permanent jewelry industry, she is, has a luxury brand. Cuz there's, there's a luxury line of jewelry that you can use. It's not, um, there's high low. And so I asked her I challenged her cuz she thought luxury really was like Louis Vuitton handbags and Gucci and Rolls Royce and all those different things.

And I said, well, really, what is luxury to you? Because what luxury is to you is probably what luxury is to your ideal client. Everyone has a different definition of luxury, right? Just sitting in your car by yourself with like no kids listening to your favorite song in the driveway for five minutes is luxury.

Going to the bathroom by yourself and not having anyone barge in who's like needing you and pulling on you and wanting something from you is luxury, right? So everyone's a definition of luxury is different. But I told her, I go look up, go to Pinterest and I did this on the call with her. Go to Pinterest and search le luxury quotes for moms and see what comes up.

And there were some quotes that she could actually just download the image and share those to your her stories. Quotes are great fillers in your stories. They're good supplements, but you should not have. Only quotes in your stories. If you are, then you need my story cash method, which is something that we can customize to you and your business in a 60 minute strategy session.

That's actually what I was doing specifically with these two gals that I'm talking about in the 60 Minutes with the, both of them are funny enough, permanent jewelry business owners. Oh, interesting. Funny how that works. Anyways . If you're only doing quotes in your stories, that's bad, that's boring.

And if you're boring, you're broke. No one wants to just go to your stories to watch a bunch of quotes, but you can utilize quotes. And if you follow me at the, Hey, hey, Emmy on Instagram, you see I do this, I use quotes as also transitional pieces in between subjects in my story. So if I'm going from like sharing about the liquid collagen to maybe maybe I want to.

Share something about Cam or there, there's just like a, like a really hard line of the subjects. They don't kind of go together. I'll use a quote as a transition piece. Sometimes I share something from Instagram and account specifically  in my stories from the app. Or sometimes I'll go to Pinterest and I'll download, uh, quote if it's, especially if it isn't my brand colors.

Here's what you do. Money hit. If it's not in your brand colors. Take the quote. And if someone, if someone said it like Mother Teresa quote her, or this Paul Guy that I just quoted, if not, then you don't have to give credit to anyone. But then put it on a story slide that has a background color of your brand color, and with the quote there, hello, you just created content fem Pinterest.

That was super easy and you literally didn't have to think about it again. Pinterest is the underdog. It does not get enough love when it comes to creating content. Hopefully this is sparking, like I said, some more creativity when it comes to you creating content. I don't wanna hear any more excuses. Do you wanna make money or do you wanna make excuses?

Sister, I'm guessing it's the first one. You wanna make the money, honey. You're here to cash in on the gram. And if you are still struggling with your content, you need to do two things. One, use this trick, use this hack. Okay? Think what tricks and hacks is it's not gonna be. You gotta do the other work too.

This is just supplementing what other types of content you create. But the second thing you need to do is swipe up. Make sure you are in the Instagram insider scoop community.  First thing when I open my books up for 6 million strategy sessions, because what you want is a customized approach, a customized story series that gives you a framework a.

Structure from which to go from, but then also gives you the flexibility to be creative in so you know exactly what to post in your story. So you have thousands of people watching them, thousands of people engaging with them, and you're waking up to people DMing you wanting to give you their money.

Sound good it does. One of the girls that I worked with, Today in the six minute strategy session felt, she, she told me and I quote, I feel 10 pounds lighter after the session because I know exactly what to do and I'm no longer gonna have to put myself in a box. I, I know what I'm gonna share and I cannot wait.

This is gonna be so fun. Okay, so you wanna be on the Instagram insider scoop so you can grab one of those six minute strategy sessions when they become available. They are gonna be limited and I cannot wait to work with you. Make sure also, okay, make sure you do this. Take a screenshot of this episode and tag me the, Hey, hey, Emmy  in your stories.

I wanna know what your biggest takeaway was. I wanna know if you like, were just blown away. Like, have you even thought about Pinterest? Maybe you use Pinterest. Make sure you tag me. I wanna continue the conversation with you over on the gram. All right. I love you so much until the next episode
