"Here's how you know when to go and when to move forward. is if you're 51% sure, you're never going to be a 100% sure when it comes to life and business and everything in between."

When you're stuck, think about your personal brand and who you are. In the crowded world of social media, it's easy to conform to certain expectations. But when you conform, you lose the ability to stand out for being who you really are. God made us perfectly and didn't make any mistakes. Being true to ourselves can help us connect with others and stand out.

This is your reminder that you don't have all the answers. We're all works in progress, and that's part of what makes life so great. When we take action, trust in God's timing, and stay true to ourselves, we can create the life of our dreams. You've got to be yourself. Being yourself is your secret sauce. That's how you'll get paid.

Stop getting stuck in analysis paralysis and start building the business and life you want. Let this be your kick in the patootie to get things moving.

📍  📍 What do you do when you don't know what to do? I feel like I've had a lot of conversations with people lately in programs that I've been coaching in clients that I've also been coaching trainings just in the dms. I've had a lot of conversations where people are blocking themselves in their business and probably in their life.

Because they're stuck in this analysis paralysis, and maybe this is you too, sister. Maybe you don't have it all figured out. You're feeling like that. Maybe you're feeling like you wanna rebrand, maybe you're feeling like you need to pivot whatever it is in this episode. Okay? We are gonna talk about what to do when you don't know what to do.

And there's actually no quote unquote strategy to answer this question. I know that's what your brain wants, but. You ain't gonna get it today. Okay. In this episode, we are gonna talk about these moments in your business and your new life that you're maybe feeling stuck in for whatever reason, or you're not advancing as fast as you'd like.

So buckle up. This is an Emmy style encouragement, a k a. You're gonna get a little kick in the pants, a little kick in the patootie. A little kick in the booty girlfriend, because let's just say I've needed it too. So let's hop into the episode.

Hey, hey, it's your girl, Emmy Cornwell, Instagram biz coach and social selling expert. Welcome to the Hey, hey, Emmy Show. This is a podcast where we talk about all things that will be helpful for you and your business. Everything from Instagram tips and tricks to health hacks to relationships, and definitely some Jesus.

Basically everything in between Proverbs 31 and Tupac. I am so excited to party with you in each and every episode because ain't no party like a Hey, hey Emmy party. Can I get Amen. All right. Let's get into it, sister.

Hey. Hey. What's going on? How are you, sister, girl? Okay. I am hopefully gonna make this one pretty quick. It's gonna be like a hot tip business tip. I don't even know. Why am I trying to name it? I'm not sure. And that's honestly part of the problem with. My life in regards to business and content and branding.

I feel like at least for the last years, I've been trying to do all the shoulds. I've been trying to put myself in this box. I mean, for goodness sakes, I'm an Instagram biz expert. I'm a personal branding marketing specialist. Like whatever fancy name you wanna put me as. By the way, I'm Hey, hey, Emmy. If you're new to this episode or this podcast, rather, I'm so glad that you're here.

This is the Hey, hey, Emmy. Show all things. Proverbs 31 to Tupac. And. What we're talking about, I feel like I teach and train on, and that's part of the reason why I feel like I've been kind of quiet about what we are gonna touch on is because, and I know that you've had the same feelings in whatever niche and industry you are.

I'm like, oh, what are people gonna think? Well, screw it. Like, It doesn't matter necessarily what people think and all the shoulds like stop shitting over yourself. And so maybe you're like, okay, Emmy, where are you going? This, with this? Well, we're gonna, we're gonna get into it because honestly, I feel like for the last year at least, because we're coming up on August of 2020, Three.

Well, August of 2022, I lost my account. My, my Instagram account that I had worked so hard. I had blood, sweat, and tears. I was so consistent. I was showing up. I was doing video. I was doing all the things that would have my account grow, that would get me paid, that would establish credibility, that would establish my expertise, that would get me clients, that would have me advance in where I wanted to go towards my goals and my business and life and all the things.

11,000 followers of engaged, highly engaged in ideal clients like that. Instagram got disabled out of the blue on August 1st. I'll never forget the day I was at a retreat for a business mastermind that I was in. It was, um, kind of like a fun day that we had, we had a day all together masterminding, and then we ended it by the pool.

Hello. Get yourself in a mastermind or around business friends that do business. And talk business and talk all those things around the pool. Now, if you're where I'm from and like me, the weather in the Pacific Northwest is not always like that. So we capitalized on that day Anyways, I'll remember it was that day I was launching the next round of an offer that I have that I have not brought back that's currently on hiatus because.

I wanted to upgrade it and change it and make it even better, and I haven't done that, but that was my cash money stories membership and that next round was gonna launch. Well, we didn't have a very successful launch partly, even though we did have an email campaign, marketing campaign going out, which is still like one of the best ways to sell is through email marketing.

Social selling is the next bus. I couldn't do that. Didn't have very good launch because I didn't have an Instagram, and at that moment I was not panicking. I was really cool with it. I was great. I was seeing God's perspective and I was hearing God clearly on it and he was telling me to pause. I had actually also found out that I was pregnant and I was not feeling well cause I was in the first trimester.

So it really ultimately was God's perfect timing that happened, but I really have no clue why it happened. And then hackers try to like blackmail you to pay them to get it restored. And I was like, you know what? Let's just hear what God has to say and God didn't say it. Move forward with that also.

That's blackmail and annoying. And how do you know they're not gonna do it again? Stupid, dumb, annoying. And like I said, I was good with it at the time, but as time went by I started, a month later, I started a new account. And that account was great. I am l i, I am thankful for that account. I have made some changes that have been helpful for like boundaries, for instance, like not following anyone, which I don't recommend.

There is strategy behind that. And I have a podcast episode if you wanna listen more on that. So you should go back. I do not know what episode is, but I share with you why I do not follow anyone on Instagram. Not even my best friend, not even my coach. Not even any prospects or leads. I don't follow anyone.

So as time went by though, I was like, this sucks. And I got like, I think I went through the stages of grief. Like I got pissed, I was angry, I got bitter, and I got, felt like I, I felt entitled and I felt like I des deserve, like I deserved to this didn't, why is this happening to me? And I felt like I had to start from square one in my brand, in my businesses.

But then I would also go back and forth of being like, oh, this is a great opportunity. I can start fresh. I know I've seen lots of big accounts, do this on purpose. Now I actually have a reason to do it and I can reinvent myself, re quote unquote rebrand maybe, or pivot a little bit because I was sick, tired of just talking about Instagram.

Cause at that point I was Instagram biz expert. And literally it was like tips and tricks only about Instagram, which you do get from me. And that's a majority of what I share. On this podcast currently, but I feel a re on the horizon coming soon, so stay tuned. Who knows? But part of this episode that I'm sharing with you kind of some of my thoughts and what has happened to me is because at the end of the day, it's a process and you have to take people on the journey.

You have to take people through the process. When I think about what I was doing back when I was like freaking on fire in my. Like just determination. My commitment, my hustle, my businesses, my brand. I, when I was showing up and I was doing the damn thing, I was on video. I didn't care what people thought I was showing up  and I only had to be one step ahead of my ideal client.

I wasn't worried about all the perfect things. I wasn't worried about nicheing like, Perfectly, that's just a word that keeps coming to mind is perfectionism. I'm a, a Ngram three. I am a recovering perfectionist, which means when you're in recovery, you aren't always gonna get it right. You know, I've been in rooms, um, AA rooms, right?

Because I've had to go to recovery twice for,  abusing alcohol in different situations over the years, and that's, Like way in my past, but it's the same with recovery. There are people who relapse. There's a reason why that word is in the dictionary and Webster has that word is because we're human and God loves us.

He does. We're not God Thank, thank God he loves us so much that he wants to see us. When he wants an abundant life. He wants us to get what we want. Through our frustrations, through our puzzle, through our goals and our vision. Like everything revolves around really at the end of the day being led by the Holy Spirit.

But God favors are you listening to like listen up? Because again, like I said, there's no actual quote unquote strategy to answer the question of what do you do when nothing, when you don't know what to do in your business. Well, I can tell you what not to do and that stay still, because when you're saying still, you're actually moving backwards, right?

There's actually no like pausing. It's either you're moving forward or you're moving backwards, and sometimes in God's math, yes, pausing and resting and staying still is a movement forward, but you have to discern when those times are. You can't just let your feelings tick, take your destiny, because that does not happen, but God favors.

Those in motion. So you cannot sit still, you cannot perseverate about what you're supposed to do. And then, you know, maybe even write captions or create content or create a business planner or write out your vision and or tell even your friend what you're gonna do, but then you never do it. That's you staying stuck and in analysis paralysis.

It's not going to, it's not gonna help anything. You're just gonna get more and more upset, more and more and frustrated. You need to be in motion. God favors those emotions. Miracles happen when you're moving. Not standing still. Yes. Can God do it? Absolutely. He can bless you in an instant. He's a God of instantly.

Is. I don't even know if that's a word. He's a God that, that will just do it. But also like, He wants you to partner with your faith. He wants you to partner with your purpose. He wants you to partner with what he shared with you of what you should do. And if you don't know what that is, well again, that doesn't give you an excuse or permission to stand still.

Here's how you know when to go and when to move forward is if you're 51% sure you're never going to be a hundred percent sure when it comes to. Life and business and everything in between, right? That's why this, this, uh, podcast is called All Things Progress, 31 to Tupac. Cuz we talk about business, we talk about health, we talk about life, relationships, love God, Jesus business, Instagram, marketing, sales, dm, conversations.

We talk about it all cuz we're building a personal brand here and it's all about you and being yourself. And, and God created you and God created you perfectly and he didn't make mistakes, but you. Have to have that like it's just 51%. You don't have to have full a hundred percent to know what you're doing.

Remember, that's why I always teach and train of like you only have to be one step ahead of your ideal client. But somewhere in this last year and really quite frankly, right before the pandemic, cause I've had a hell of a lot of last three years, and I have to remember to even give myself grace of everything that has happened.

And guess what? I still do. I still show up. Am I showing up how I want to be? No. Do I feel stuck? Yes. Do I? I think, like I said, a rebrand is on the future. Yes. Because I've changed. I've grown. I'm a mother now, but I'm still a businesswoman and I'm still here to serve at a high level and have an impact on you.

I want you to know who you truly are. I want you to know your true identity through a healthy lifestyle. And a healthy lifestyle is not just physical health. It's mental health, physical health, emotional health, spiritual health, and all those things. If those are out of whack, if those are out of alignment, then you absolutely are gonna not be good in your business.

You're not gonna be making that money, honey, and I know that's not what you want. So at the end of the day, you still have to keep showing up. When my son was in the NICU for the first three weeks, I still showed up. I showed. What we were going through, I showed the process, and yes, over the last couple years have I started to gradually not show as much.

It's not even a quantity thing. It's just like, I wish I could share with you really how I'm feeling. I'm feeling like I'm in the era of I'm gonna get back to doing what I did before I actually got paid on Instagram, before I actually got paid to be myself before I actually got paid. Because of my personal brand.

That's Sarah. I'm in. Are you with me, sister? Are you with me on getting back to the basics? Whatever you wanna call it. I am here to as open a book as I've had then I've still been calculated, and yes, you should have strategy in business, but I've been calculated and it's been subconscious because it's a, your, my ego has been protecting myself and that's what our ego is for.

It's a self pre preservation mechanism. And it's not like I wake, I'm like, oh, I care what people think and so I'm not gonna show this. It's it's so subconscious and that's, uh, we can't even get into that. I'm not even an expert in that, but just know that I feel like I have this Ngram three talking failed you.

And not giving you a hundred percent the complete picture. Now, what I've been showing is not the lie. There's no lies in it. It's all reality. There's all cues of reality. That's social media is un unfortunately as open book as you can be, and that's why I don't feel bad about this is I am a pretty open book and share everything.

It's still, you still have to push record and maybe you're pushing record after the moment, which means it's a little bit manufactured, but you and I both. Okay, we're gonna do this together. Cuz again, I, this episode is for me too, right? I'm the one getting myself booty kicked. But we need to punch judgment, which is actually based in fear in the face.

And just, just do it fricking Nike. Just do it right. I for, I'm the expert, right? I'm the expert. In Instagram, I'm, people come to me, they ask me questions. What should I do in my stories? How should I sell? How should I make money? How do I do things When I'm multi compassionate what is gonna increase my engagement?

How, um, do I grow all these different things? I'm an expert in that area and just because I don't have it all figured out, let's normalize that. If you don't have it all figured out, doesn't mean I'm not good at what I do. Doesn't mean it's not, you're not good at what you do, but I would say I am totally.

I feel like I am sucking and I have thoughts and limiting beliefs. So why would anyone want to follow my lead when I am not 100% doing what I, what I share with you to do? And I know that I can't be the only who has moments of feeling like that, but like I said, let's normalize the fact That doesn't mean you're not good at what you do.

Doesn't mean you're not anex expert. Doesn't mean you're a fraud. It doesn't mean you're a failure. Like hello? Sister, girl, we are all human. We are not perfect. No one is perfect. You know who is the one person who is perfect is Jesus. So since you aren't him and you never will be God, you'll never be Jesus.

You'll never be the Holy Spirit. You're never gonna be the Trinity. Then stop trying to act like it. Here's your permission to post whatever you want to post, because that's really the biggest question that I get then is like, well, what should I put in my bio? Or what should I post on my feed? Or what should I share in my stories?

Because I don't know what I'm doing and it's not like the technical piece of what I'm doing is I don't know what to do, so I'm just gonna not do anything. Well, that's not the solution. So here's your permission to post whatever you want. I just posted a freaking reel about, now it does, it does tie back to really my brand, but I didn't.

Do it justice. Cause I kind of just like half-assed it. But I did a reel of, I went to a friend, my friend her, she had a P field day. She's a farmer. And it was a beautiful, I was like, oh, I'm gonna like be a blogger. I'm gonna be like a ooh, like emo, vibed out, gen Z like reel maker today with these panties and take a video and.

Say something about the B and I looked up a Pinterest quote, which by the way, if you are having problems creating content right now, that's the hack, right? Is that you can utilize my Pinterest strategy. That was in, I think, the last episode. And so I went to Pinterest and I looked up, quote about like being yourself, because that is one of  my things that I preach on, I teach on, I share with you, is like you have to be yourself.

You being yourself is your secret sauce. That is how you're gonna be paid. So I looked up a, a quote, it, it resonated with that, but I didn't like really connect the dots and the caption for you. Well, I posted that and I didn't do a cover and it's not my brand colors and I have this ugly green square on my feed with a flower and you can't even see the, like, quote.

It's doesn't look good aesthetically, but I gave myself permission. To post whatever I wanted and I wanted to post that. I've been posting more reels about camp. Okay, I'm giving you the same permission. And when you do that, that's that. That's when you're in motion, right, is when you're just doing it.

You're not like worried about quote unquote what other people think or the result. You're just being, you're not doing your being, but that's when your ideas will come. That's when your divine downloads will come. That's when you'll know what's working in the marketplace. That's when you'll be able to get to know your ideal client better.

That's when things happen. Again, miracles happen when you are moving. God favors those in motion, so you gotta get, you gotta get doing it. You cannot just like, Think about, analyze, strategize, buy all the courses, get all the coaching. Learn, learn, learn, and not, not do. Now your being turns into doing and vice versa because you don't care because you're just in essence operating from who you truly are.

And that's one of the reasons why I'm so passionate about helping you find your true identity. I also have done an episode in the past where I walk you through an exercise about a 20 minute exercise of finding who that is. Who are you? Because if you don't know who you are, I talk about this in my freebie too, in my personal branding freebie to help you build a personal brand from scratch, which if you swipe up, actually you can get that for free.

Oh man. Cam's feeding just went off, which means I gotta wrap this up. Okay. Swipe up. Get all the resources. No that you can do it. Okay. Get all the business resources for emmy cornwell.com. As well, the personal brand freebie is there too, but it's gonna be in the show notes. I am opening up spots for working with me privately very, very soon.

Okay. I'm almost 12 weeks postpartum. I'm ready to start taking on clients publicly. I have been taking on clients privately through referrals and that has been amazing, but I'm getting ready to open up spots to work with me privately, and you're gonna wanna do that. Okay? Because we do need to talk about the strategy.

There is strategy. But if you don't know who you are and you don't have that set, it doesn't matter how much strategy I give you. Okay? So also, if you want the first to know, get on the Instagram insider scoop. Again, that's gonna be in the show notes. That's my free community that you wanna be a part of also, because you're gonna majorly hooked up on any special pricing.

So I look forward to seeing you in Instagram. Insider scoop. Sorry, this end is so slow. Like, I hope he can't hear it, but Cam's little feeding machine that he has a feeding tube. My son has a feeding tube still in is like beeping and I probably do go all day, but that would be annoying and we don't want that.

So hopefully I will see you on the Instagram insider scoop. Also, make sure to take a screenshot of this. Tag me the hey Emmy, and we can continue the conversation there. I love you so much. Hopefully this episode was impactful for you and I know it was for me. So if nothing else, All right. Thank you. Thank you for listening.

Love you so much. Catch you on the next episode.
